Sound Synthesis and 3D Graphics
Anthony Bartram, Amcog Games
Monday 21st November 2016, 7:45pm

Antony Bartram is currently developing a sound synthesiser for RISC OS, based on Wavebox for Windows.

Although the code is based on the Wavebox DSP, the sound engine is different. Inspiration is drawn from the BBC Micro, Amiga and analogue synthesisers to try and create something distinct and geared towards chip tunes and sound effects.

Each of the 8 sound channels has the following signal path:

As if that wasn't enough, Anthony will also be talking about the 3D modelling used in his space game, Xeroid, and explaining how the 3D projection works. All done in plain BBC BASIC.

Since Anthony released his first game Overlord 18 months ago, he has gone on to release Xeroid, Legends of Magic, and most recently Mop Tops. Each has featured full soundtracks with new tunes produced by Anthony. There should be plenty of time to play with these, and maybe buy a copy if you missed them at the London Show!
